Introduction to awards night panelists

On Tuesday 10th May, the OMiG digital marketing awards 2016 will take place at the Town Hall Theatre.  Along with the celebration of the awards ceremony on Tuesday 10th May, our distinguished panel of expert speakers will hold a special panel discussion, “Digital innovation: Inspiring campaigns that span online and off’.  The focus will be around the areas of – Innovation in digital and the importance of the integration online and offline marketing.

This year’s panel include names from the top digital marketing practitioners in Ireland, including Head of Innovation, David Tighe, Bank of Ireland, Hugh Hessing, CEO, Aviva, Jennifer Ward, Head of Marketing, Irish Hotels Federation and Maebh Connellan, Head of Digital, Vizeum, Ireland.

Hugh Hessing, CEO Aviva Ireland

Hugh was appointed CEO of Aviva Ireland in October 2014. He first joined Aviva in 2006 and held director customer facing roles in both the General and Life business in the UK. He was Customer Experience Director of the Life business serving 7 million customers. Later, he was appointed Global Systems Thinking Lead for Aviva Group.

Before joining Aviva, he worked in KPMG, where he led large operations in the city at merchant banks.

Gillian Horan, CEO and Founder, The Pudding

Meabh Connellan Head of Digital, Vizeum

Meabh joined Vizeum 8 years ago as a founding member of the digital team; through her time in Vizeum she has enjoyed watching and being part of the dramatic rise of digital in the media landscape and also Vizeum. She has pushed boundaries within the digital sphere ensuring Vizeum and their entire client base are always on the crest of digital trends and technology. Meabh takes a creative outlook on planning and supports this with excellent strategic thinking. Meabh has recognised trends in the industry and built a robust digital team to take full advantage of all opportunities these digital trends have to offer.

During Meabh’s time within the media industry, she has worked across most product categories with clients such as 20th Century Fox, Dublin Bus, IKEA, C&C, Largo Foods, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard, Kerry Foods, eir, Meteor, BMW MINI.

Dave Tighe, Head of Innovation, Bank of Ireland

Dave has spent 14 years in Retail Banking in Ireland since graduating from Trinity College. David also holds an MBA from Manchester Business School.

He has extensive experience across digital banking, the payments industry and innovation in financial products. He has been responsible for Credit Card and Current Account product strategies and has delivered multiple new retail products to the Irish market.

His recent role in Bank of Ireland looks at long term planning, consumer behaviour changes, market planning and incubation and the integration of fintech and innovative start-ups.
