For the first time, Connector is holding an event in Galway! And to celebrate we have an Instagram double-bill! Yes, two events and both free to enter!

Starting in the Portershed at 6pm, on Thursday 20th October, there is an Instagram ‘Pimp my Profile’Event with MC Conor Lynch from Connector (creators of the Huawei Snapys) and several Instagram experts from Galway who will share their secrets. We aim to use the collective experience and skill of our experts to help advise those who would like to learn more about how to Pimp my Profile’! We want to show off great profiles and brainstorm valuable new ideas for our guests. For free!

We will cover areas people want to cover like getting started, creating a personal style, building an Instagram collection, promoting your brand, Instagram profiles best practice, Instagram ads, photography and graphic design etc.

The Huawei Snapys, Ireland’s Independent Awards for the Instagram community, has partnered with #GalwayHour to inspire Irish amateur photographers to showcase the beauty of Galway.

The Instagrammers Meet Up will take place afterwards at 8pm, in the award winning pub, An Púcán.

The central location, on Foster Street in the East Village, enhances the great party atmosphere that Galway is famous for. There will be finger food for everyone and a fantastic giveaway for a Huawei P9, named European Consumer Smartphone 2016-17 at this year’s EISA Awards.

To be in with a chance of winning this fantastic prize, the Instagrammer must enter the Huawei Snapys by simply uploading their image to Instagram using #huaweisnapys and a relevant category hashtag, and be in attendance on the night.

The best attributes of An Púcán: great food and top quality spirits will be paired with the best personalities of top Irish influencers and bloggers who will join the evening.

This fun social event will surely show high on Twitter trends thanks to the partnership with the hashtag #GalwayHour, which brings the local community together. Huawei Snapys founder, Conor Lynch, says “We’re really excited to bring the Huawei Snapys to the
West! There’s always a great atmosphere there and we’re ready to connect the online with the offline and have some fun with Instagram.”

The Huawei Snapys invites the best and brightest Instagrammers to submit their snaps and become Ireland’s best Instagrammers. There’s over €10,000 worth of prizes up for grabs and the overall winner will then go on to the ultimate assignment in Shenzhen, China in January 2017. The winner, along with the winners of the other 10 European countries, will be sent on an all expenses trip to Shenzhen to capture nine images over 1 week coached by 4 mentors.
